WOOD-CARBON WINDOWS
Natural material – wood and maintenance-free
People who are now building a family home or reconstructing their current house have different notions and dreams about the windows they would like to have in their homes. A typical ideal is to have beautiful windows made of natural materials, featuring great insulation properties but, above all, requiring no care, i.e. the so-called
maintenance-free windows. Such is the dream of many of today‘s builders but, if you think about it, there is something wrong here....
Natural material – wood and maintenance-free? This can’t be possible, it is illogical ...
Yet there is a product on today’s market, available even in the Czech Republic, that makes the builders’ dreams about windows, previously unimaginable, come true. It is an innovation based on the design of the traditional and well-proven EURO windows, making use of the tenoning technique in the window corners, which has stood up to the test of centuries of time. The wisdom of Czech engineers has improved this window so that it is truly maintenance-free, provides perfect insulation and is made of genuinely natural materials. Do you still think it is not possible?
Last year, ALBO ®, a genuine Czech family business with a long tradition, fully developed this timeless window, and this year we have presented it at the International Building Fair in Brno.
It is the so-called wood-carbon window ...
The
wood-carbon window concept is relatively new. It is a
wooden EURO window made of a special sandwich material – a lamella made of a modified tempered balk is fitted onto a wooden frame. What exactly is it? It is a thermally treated wooden balk impregnated only with natural oils, waxes and resins, which is subsequently subjected to thermal treatment so that all of its components are cured in the structure of the wood. A window made of this material is totally maintenance-free and environmentally friendly as it is made of natural materials. A long and totally maintenance-free life represents an indisputable advantage of
wood-carbon windows. This window was the dream of many foreign manufacturers of windows, mostly based in Germany, but it was not until after the Czech designers managed to find the ideal solution that the window was put into production.
Very interesting windows with regard to price
Given the expected significant increases in oil and energy prices, the price of aluminium or plastic windows should rise continually, more than the price of wooden windows. For example, in the production of aluminium and plastic profiles, almost half of their cost of production is the cost of energy (the primary raw material is always oil). Therefore,
wood-carbon windows that are made from purely natural materials are ecological and feature excellent insulation properties could be an interesting product for the future. I personally believe this will provide comfortable, cost-effective and healthy living...
